So I just was reading through my normal websites like I do about 5 times a day (I sit at a computer all day). Foxnews.com, msnbc.com, cnn.com, etc And I stumbled upon this article and thought I would post it because of the viral video that has stolen the hearts of many Americans across the country.
My favorite thing about this article is the richest man in the world getting richer off lower middle class/middle class Americans and the fact that we are all paying for cell phones for the unemployed. I originally thought the free cell phones was a non-profit charity, but in fact it is on our cell phone bills:
"Griffin recently introduced a bill on Capitol Hill to end the Lifeline program, which cost $1.6 billion in 2011, up from $772 million in 2008. While not technically a tax, the program is funded by mandatory fees tacked on to consumers' phone bills, then disbursed through the Federal Communications Commission and states."
Sure enough I went to my phone bill and under "surcharges; government programs" there is a couple dollar charge every month. Awesome.
